Microsoft will soon end support for Windows 10 version 1903, also known as 'May 2019 Update' and '19H1'. The OS will stop receiving security updates starting on December 8, 2020. So, Microsoft has started upgrading users of the OS to a newer release.
Microsoft has started automatic upgrades of devices running Windows 10 version 1903 to the next Windows 10 version, which is 1909. While the latest stable release of Windows 10 is version 20H2, the Redmond software giant is in no hurry to deliver it to May 2019 Update users. By upgrading to version 1909, users should get smooth upgrade experience, as 1909 is a service pack-like upgrade, with all features already delivered to version 1903 with cumulative upgrades. The 'upgrade' installs an enablement package that just activates a few new features. This was used for Windows 10 version 1903 and 1909, and version 2004 and 20H2.
