Microsoft has rolled out the most significant update in Xbox Game Pass history, introducing three revised subscription tiers: Game Pass Essential, Premium, and Ultimate. These replace the former Core, Standard, and Ultimate plans effective immediately. All current subscribers will transition automatically: Core users move to Essential, Standard to Premium, and Ultimate subscribers retain their tier with enhanced features.

The update includes adjusted pricing. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate now costs $29.99 per month, up from $19.99. PC Game Pass increases from $11.99 to $16.49 monthly.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

Ultimate subscribers gain access to over 75 launch-day titles annually, including upcoming releases such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, The Outer Worlds 2, and Ninja Gaiden 4. The library now exceeds 400 games across console, PC, and cloud, with 45 new additions like Blue Prince and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
Additional benefits include full Fortnite Crew membership (starting November 18), Ubisoft+ Classics access, and priority queues for Xbox Cloud Gaming, which now streams at 1440p resolution following its exit from beta. The enhanced Rewards program allows members to earn up to $100 annually through gameplay and purchases.
Xbox Game Pass Premium
Premium offers a catalog of over 200 games, including Diablo IV, Hogwarts Legacy, Minecraft, and Grand Theft Auto V. Subscribers receive new first-party Xbox titles one year after release (excluding Call of Duty) and unlimited cloud gaming, including streaming from personal game libraries. The Rewards program provides up to $50 in annual value through points and cashback.
Xbox Game Pass Essential
Essential maintains online multiplayer access and introduces unlimited cloud gaming. The PC catalog now features over 50 titles, including Hades, Stardew Valley, and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. Members also participate in the Rewards program, earning up to $25 per year.
New Titles Added Across Plans
Effective October 1, Microsoft adds dozens of games across all subscription levels. Ultimate includes the full Assassin’s Creed legacy collection, Far Cry series entries, and Tom Clancy titles. Premium gains access to Diablo IV, Age of Empires remasters, and Hellblade 2. All tiers now feature Hades, Disney Dreamlight Valley, and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide.
