A few days ago Microsoft released a set of cumulative updates for supported Windows 10 versions. Some users report that they are unable to install the released patches. Other users claim that after installing the updates, Windows 10 became unstable.
Microsoft has released the KB4512508 update for Windows 10 version 1809. According to the reports on Reddit, users see error codes 0x80073701, 0xE0000100 and 0x800f0982 when trying to install that patch.
Some of the users who were able to install the update report that Windows 10 reboots randomly and has become unusable. This issue also affects users of Windows 10 version 1903.
Screen goes black, PC shuts down. PC restarts, and goes straight to Desktop. As though it were just restarting normally, were it not for the fact that it doesn’t wait for programmes to close before doing so. I don’t have a login or anything, and it doesn’t go to BIOS either. There’s no way to diagnose this as it is completely sudden and without warning. 100% a problem caused by a recent Windows patch.

If you are able to sign in to your Windows 10 user account, open a new command prompt as Administrator and execute sfc /scannow
. Otherwise, you need to get a bootable USB or ISO.
Microsoft didn't release any official statement about these issues. It's not known yet how many users are affected.
