A few days ago, Microsoft started rolling out a new update for Skype Preview (UWP) app on Windows 10, which was previously available only to Windows Insiders on the Fast Ring. This update has introduced the Skype Translator feature to the app, allowing users from around the world to chat or call each other even if there's no common language they can speak. And today, this update has made its way to both Slow and Release Preview rings.
The app's change log stays the same, and aside from the Skype Translator feature, it also mentions a few more:
- Introduce friends and family on Skype by sharing their Skype contact details
- Capture and share video messages with friends and family on Skype — even if they’re not online
- Manage your conversations and save time by marking conversations as read or unread
- Don’t miss another call by forwarding them to a mobile or landline
If you're running one of the latest Windows 10 Insider Preview builds, you probably already received the update and might want to check out the new features. If not, just click the "Check for updates" button on the "Downloads and updates" page in the Windows Store app.
