According to various reports on the Internet, the recently released KB4586781 cumulative update is causing a number of issues, including 0x8007000d and 0x800f0831 errors, blue screens for some users, and more.
The KB4586781 patch targets Windows 10 version 20H2. Released on November 10, it includes security updates to the Microsoft Scripting Engine, Windows Input and Composition, Microsoft Graphics Component, the Windows Wallet Service, Windows Fundamentals, and the Windows Kernel.
Quickly after the release of the patch, users on Answers, Feedback Hub, and Reddit started reporting unexpected behavior of the new update.
For some users, the update fails to install. Windows 10 is able to download it, but then tries to install throws an error 0x800f0831.
For others, installing KB4586781 causes a Blue Screen. While there is no evidence that it is indeed the patch that causes the stop screens, users blame it as they have not faced them prior to receiving the patch.
Finally, which is the worst in this case, users report that after the above issues Windows 10 may fail to load the user profile, signing you with a temporary profile instead.
There's no official word yet on the above claims. Microsoft may be internally investigating the report.

- Enter the following command:
