Hidden features in Windows 11 Build 23475 and how to enable them

Windows 11 Build 23475 has been released out to Dev channel insiders last night. Traditionally, it includes a number of features that Microsoft has made available to select users. There are also hidden features that aren't visible to anyone by default. Here are the ViVeTool commands you can use to enable them.

Enable Hidden Features in Windows 11 Build 23475

First of all, you need to get ViVeTool. Download it from GitHub, and extract its files to the c:\vivetool folder. This will allow you to launch the commands in a convenient way.

Next, right-click the Windows logo button in the taskbar, and select Terminal(Admin). You will use the elevated Terminal app to execute the ViVeTool commands.

Most commands require you to restart Windows 11 for the changes to take effect.

Now you are ready to enable hidden features in Windows 11 Build 23475.

Enable new address bar and home page in File Explorer

  1. In your elevated Terminal, switch to either PowerShell (Ctrl+Shift+1) or Command Prompt (Ctrl+Shift+2) tab.
  2. Type the following command: c:\vivetool\vivetool /enable /id:42105254, 38664959, 40950262,41076133, and hit Enter.
  3. Restart Windows 11.

You should now have the new File Explorer.

New Share dialog

Windows 11 Build 23475 includes a new share UI which is hidden by default. You could have already seen it in Build 25309. While it was earlier visible for some, in the most recent build it is no longer used by default.

To enable the new Share dialog, run the following ViVeTool command, and restart the operating system.

c:\vivetool\vivetool /enable /id:38890980

How to Enable Emoji 15.0

Unicode Emoji 15 has become available to some insiders in the Dev channel as part of a gradual roll-out.

These emojis are expected to be released to the public later this year with a Windows 11 update. You can activate the new set of Emoji right now, without waiting when they will become available for you. Use the following command for that.

c:\vivetool\vivetool /enable /id:40213648

Now, you can input new emoji in Windows by pressing Win + ..

Dynamic Lighting

Last but not least, if you don't see the RGB lighting options for peripherals, you can activate the user interface in Settings with this command:

c:\vivetool\vivetool /enable /id:35262205

After that you will have the following options even if you don't have any supported device connected.

To undo any of the changes, run the same ViVeTool command, but replace /enable with /disable. For example, the command c:\vivetool\vivetool /enable /id:35262205 will become c:\vivetool\vivetool /disable /id:35262205.
