Earlier in May, enthusiasts have discovered a new "Designer" app with little to nothing information on what it does. More information has become available about this new tool.
First of all, a new screenshot reveals that the app can "use your context and AI" to generate designs. It also allows selecting pre-built templates from "Microsoft Create". The latter is an online service hosted on the create.microsoft.com website. The URL also includes the "Oasis" code name for the app.
As follows from the screenshot, the app can fetch some online content for you, like images from Instagram, and a set of colors to build a design using one of templates.
Microsoft is yet to announce the app and reveal what it will be for the end user. Its initial version was a short-lived public demo that looked as part of Power Point. With AI additions and UI changes, the app can become an independent solution to compete with services like Canva.
There is no official word from Microsoft regarding Designer and its public release date.
