Google has made changes to the release cycle of its Chrome browser. The beta version will now be created just two days after the branch is formed, rather than eight.
The beta version will then be stabilized within four weeks, which is one week less than the previous cycle.
This new cycle will begin with the release of Chrome 119 on October 31, instead of November 7 as originally planned. The Chrome 120 branch will start forming on October 30, with the release of this version scheduled for December 6.
Google has also shortened the cycle for corrective updates, with weekly updates now being generated starting with Chrome 116. Critical vulnerabilities will still be fixed out of schedule.

I think that’s good and bad. Good for security, bad when using ungoogled-chromium for example. Lots of updates all the time.
I’ve been on the internet for 25 years and have never been hacked (that I know of), gotten a handful of viruses maybe at that time. If only people could learn not to click and download everything they see and think a little beforehand.
