Google makes it easier to unsubscribe from emails

Google has simplified the process of unsubscribing from emails in Gmail. A new feature allows users to unsubscribe without opening the email by simply hovering over it. The change is now available in the Gmail app for iOS and Android, eliminating the need to go through the email itself to find the unsubscribe link, or dive into the menu.

In addition, when reporting spam, users will now see the option to simply click "Unsubscribe" for legitimate senders rather than the previous "Report spam and unsubscribe" option.

This new feature is accessible to all Google Workspace customers and personal Google account users.

Google has also announced improvements to Gmail on Android, with the navigation bar being moved to the side to enhance performance on tablets and foldable devices, making it easier to switch tabs in Gmail.

Furthermore, starting in February 2024, Gmail and Yahoo will be implementing new requirements for bulk mailings in order to reduce the amount of spam. These changes will impact users who send more than 5 thousand emails a day.
