Google Chrome for ARM is now available as a stable version of the app. With the release of the native ARM version, the performance of Chrome on ARM devices has increased by more than 2 times compared to emulation. It also significantly reduces battery consumption .
The native Chrome for ARM was in testing since January 2024. It supports the Arm64 architecture directly on Windows devices with Arm processors, eliminating the need for emulation.
Google Chrome is the most popular browser, which occupies more than 60% of the market. However, it didn't have a native ARM version until now and was only working via emulation on Windows on ARM.
But now, various tests indicate that the native app runs on Snapdragon X Elite not worse than its counterpart on the latest Core Ultra family from Intel, while energy efficiency is significantly higher.
It is worth mentioning that Google catches up, as Firefox and Edge have already been natively available for Arm on Windows for quite some time.
