On July 18, Google released Chrome 115 to the stable branch. The new version adds several user interface changes, including the updated sidebar. It also supports the Mica effect on the titlebar. Besides, it fixes 20 vulnerabilities.
What's new in Google Chrome 115
- Reading mode in the sidebar. Allows you to view the currently open page without distraction along with its regular appearance. The simplified page will appear in the sidebar on the right. This feature is rolling out gradually.

- Chrome 115 introduces an updated permission dialog that has got a new option, "Allow this time". The permission will be granted only once, so next time you visit the same website, it won't be allowed, say to know your location or show notifications.
- Mica support: Starting in Chrome 115, the browser supports the Mica effect for its titlebar when running on Windows 11. It is disabled by default, so you need to enable the
chrome://flags/#windows11-mica-titlebar
flag. Follow this detailed guide to learn mode. - Chrome will automatically redirect HTTP requests to HTTPS where possible. The user can specify exceptions for websites where HTTP requests are permitted or forbidden.
- Chrome 115 will use DNS over HTTPs by default for select users when they use a supported DNS provider.
- Chrome 115 comes with Encrypted Client Hello (ECH) enabled by default. This feature is also rolling out gradually.
