Get the Start screen back in Windows 10 without using third party tools

In Windows 10 build 9926 Microsoft has removed both the Start screen and the Start menu features. Instead of them, Windows 10 offers the unified new Start menu, which can be used as the Start screen, a sort of. Here is what you have to do if you want to get the Start screen back in Windows 10.

The Start menu in Windows 10 is expandable, so you can expand it to make it look almost similar to the Start screen in Windows 8/8.1. Do the following:

  1. Open the Start menu.
  2. Click the special 'Expand Start' button in the top right corner:
  3. You are done. Now the Start menu will fill your screen like the Start screen:

You are done. To get the previous state of the Start menu, click the same button once again.
