Mozilla has announced a new feature for Firefox: the AI Window. It will offer a separate AI-powered interaction space, complementing the existing standard web navigation mode and private browsing mode.

AI Window in Firefox
The AI Window offers a dedicated session within Firefox where users can interact with an AI assistant while browsing. The feature is entirely optional. Users choose whether, when, and how to use it. Those who opt in retain full control and may disable the feature at any time.
The idea is to move the AI assistant out of the sidebar and make it possible to interact with it right while browsing, e.g. to ask it something without shifting your attention from the current page.
Mozilla invites developers to help shaping the AI Window. A waitlist is now available for those who wish to receive updates, gain early access, and provide feedback during the testing phase.
Unlike browsers developed by AI-focused companies that offer all-or-nothing AI experiences, Firefox maintains multiple browsing modes: standard, private, and now AI-enabled. This way, users can select the experience that best fits their needs.
Mozilla views its role as essential in shaping AI integration in ways that preserve user choice and support a free and open Internet.
