Enable or Disable Experiments Page in Firefox Nightly
Mozilla has updated the Nightly version of the Firefox browser with a new 'Nightly Experiments' page, that allows you to review, participate, or step out of new feature testing in the latest Firefox using a friendly user interface.
Firefox is a popular web browser with its own rendering engine, which is very rare in the Chromium-based browser world. Since 2017, Firefox has the Quantum engine which comes with a refined user interface, codenamed "Photon". The browser doesn't include support for XUL-based add-ons any more, so all of the classic add-ons are deprecated and incompatible. See Must have add-ons for Firefox Quantum.
Thanks to the changes made to the engine and the UI, the browser is amazingly fast. The user interface of Firefox became more responsive and it also starts up noticeably faster. The engine renders web pages much faster than it ever did in the Gecko era.
As of this writing, the latest stable version of Firefox is 78.0.1. Check out all the changes introduced in Firefox 78.
Mozilla is also constantly making improvements for Nightly users. There are plenty of Firefox fans who have Nightly installed alongside the Stable branch. Some even use it as their primary web browser, although it is a bad idea from the app stability point of view. To simplify the feature testing process, Mozilla has added a new Nightly Experiments page to settings of Nightly.
To Open Nightly Experiments Page in Firefox Nightly,
- Open Firefox Nightly.
- Open the menu (Alt + F)
- Click on the Option item.
- On the left, click on Nightly Experiments.
There, you can enable (check) or disable (uncheck) the features available for testing.
If the above page in Nightly is not visible for you, or you want to hide it instead, there is a special about: config option to use for that.
To Enable or Disable Experiments Page in Firefox Nightly,
- Open Firefox Nightly.
- Enter
about:config
into the address bar, and confirm your intention. - Type
browser.preferences.experimental
in the search box. - Set the
browser.preferences.experimental
option totrue
to make the page visible. - Otherwise, set the
browser.preferences.experimental
option tofalse
to hide the Experiments page.
That's it.

Your nightly does not allow me to use websites I usually do. How can I get rid of it? Maybe I should just get rid of Firefox itself.
