Mozilla has released a major new version 34 of the Firefox browser, and it comes with a nice WebRTC feature called "Firefox Hello". Using this feature, users can make video and audio calls to other Firefox users without any additional software or plugins. But this feature is not enabled by default so many users couldn't figure out how to use Hello in Firefox 34. Here is how to force Firefox to enable it for you.
The Hello option is not enabled for all users yet because Mozilla wanted to reduce the load on their servers and prevent them from going down in case all users of the browser started using WebRTC to call someone at the same time. It is possible to bypass the restriction set by the Mozilla team and enable the Hello feature instantly. You need to do the following:
- Open a new tab and enter the following text in the address bar:
about:config
Confirm that you will be careful if a warning message appears for you.
- Enter the following text in the filter box:
loop.throttled
- You will see the loop.throttled parameter. Set it to false to enable the Hello feature.
- Restart Firefox.
- Click the "hamburger" menu button and then click the "Customize" button. There you will find the "Hello" button, as shown below:
That's it. You are done.

Thanks a lot! :)
I followed the above advice but I do not have an entry for loop.throttled. It returns a blank page and when I scroll down the whole list (in case I typed it incorrectly) there was no such entry. I am on Firefox 41.0.2 running on a 64bit Dell Inspiron.
What do I do now?
