With Windows 10 Anniversary Update, Microsoft added the appropriate option to Settings, so Registry editing is not required any more. Let's see how it can be done.
The option mentioned in this article is new to Windows 10 Anniversary Update. To get it working, you need to have Windows 10 build 14316 or above installed.
How to enable colored taskbar but keep title bars white in Windows 10
There is a new option in Settings under Personalization -> Colors. It allows you to enable colored taskbar but keep title bars white in Windows 10. Do the following.
- Open the Settings app.
- Go to Personalization -> Colors.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page to the option Show color on Start, taskbar, and Action Center. Enable this option.
- Now, disable the option Show color on title bar. This option should be disabled in order to get white title bars.
The changes will be applied immediately. See the appearance in action:
