Microsoft today released Edge Stable that includes a fix for a critical vulnerability, known as "CVE-2021-21148". It is a bug in Chromium, and it affects all browsers that use this open source project.
A few hours ago Google has updated Chrome to resolve it, and now the Edge browser has got similar update.
CVE-2021-21148 is a buffer overflow issue in the V8 JavaScript engine. It was found by Mattias Buelens, a security researcher who reported the presence of this vulnerability to Google in January. There is also a known exploit for that bug, so it is a good idea to update the browser right now.
You can install the latest build of the browser by opening its menu (Alt + F), and going to menu > Help and Feedback > About Edge.
The latest stable version of Microsoft Edge can be downloaded from here.
