Every Windows 10 user is familiar with the new default browser, Microsoft Edge. It is intended to be faster and support all modern web standards. With every feature release of Windows 10, Edge becomes more feature-rich and useful.
In Windows 10 Creators Update, the browser will get Brotli compression algorithm. It has been added to the Insider Preview release, Windows 10 build 14986.
Brotli compression will make page loading in Edge much faster. Microsoft says that it will speed up compression by up to 20% when using the HTTP content-encoding method. Brotli is more efficient than existing Deflate algorithm.
Edge is not the first browser which is getting support for Brotli. Earlier, Google Chrome received Brotli compression algorithm as well.
