If you happen to have lots of saved websites in your bookmarks, finding the right one may be quite a tedious process. To help you locate the needed page, Edge offers a favorites search that you can access by clicking the Favorites button on the toolbar or with the Ctrl + Shift + O shortcut. In the latest Canary Build, developers made a small tweak to improve Favorites search and make it a little bit faster.
Previously, you had to open the favorites menu and then click the search button. Now, all you need to do is open the favorites flyout and start typing right away. This works in the same way the Start menu Search works. The updated favorites search will save you a couple of clicks and make locating a bookmark much faster.
Favorites search is available in Edge 88 Stable but for now, the updated one can be found in Edge 90 Canary only. You can download this build from the official Edge Insiders website. Just be aware that Canary builds are intended solely for testing purposes. Because you may face some bugs or compatibility issues, we do not recommend using Edge Canary as a primary browser for your daily use.
Microsoft Edge is now a Chromium-based browser with a number of exclusive features like Read Aloud and services tied to Microsoft instead of Google. For pre-release versions, Microsoft is currently using three channels to deliver updates to Edge Insiders. The Canary channel receives updates daily (except Saturday and Sunday), the Dev channel is getting updates weekly, and the Beta channel is updated every 6 weeks. Microsoft is going to support Edge Chromium on Windows 7, 8.1 and 10, alongside macOS, Linux and mobile apps on iOS and Android.
