Root Certificate Store Update
The Microsoft Edge root certificate store is powered by the Microsoft Trusted Root Program. A recent update has caused certificates to no longer be trusted by default if they are endorsed by one of the listed Entrust root certificates and the earliest Signed Certificate Timestamp (SCT) has a date after April 16, 2025, 7:00:00 UTC. Enterprises running a website with an affected certificate should obtain and deploy a new certificate that is not affected by this change before that date. Alternatively, enterprises can override this restriction by installing the relevant root certificate as a locally trusted root certificate in the operating system. Enterprises choosing this option should carefully evaluate the risks involved.

Microsoft Search in the Microsoft Edge address bar
After March 31, 2025, the address bar in Microsoft Edge for business will redirect users to search results on M365.cloud.microsoft instead of Bing. You'll still be able to find documents, bookmarks, and people related to your workplace, but clicking suggestions in the address bar will redirect you to M365.cloud.microsoft. You can also type "work" in the address bar, click the key Tab, and type a work-related query to get search results on M365.cloud.microsoft. Redesigned Work Feed on the New Tab Page in Edge
The Work Feed, available on the New Tab Page in Edge for enterprise customers with a Microsoft 365 subscription, has received several changes and improvements. Most notably, there is a greater focus on productivity and Microsoft 365 models.
Starting mid-April 2025, users will see a redesigned My Feed on the New Tab Page for enterprise customers. You will no longer be able to view content and activity across your network, but you will have quick access to recently used Microsoft 365 documents, recently created SharePoint sites, upcoming Outlook events, Microsoft 365 apps, and To-Do tasks.

Note: These changes are being rolled out in stages using controlled feature rollout technology.

- Sync Edge feature usage data. The sync module, which allows you to sync user data across multiple devices, now includes a new category - "Feature usage". It allows you to sync data about the features you use in Edge to optimize your browsing experience.
- Trending address bar suggestions on the New Tab page: The New Tab page in Microsoft Edge will now display popular search queries in the address bar dropdown. Administrators can control the availability of this feature with the AddressBarTrendingSuggestEnabled policy .
- Configure an authorized group in Microsoft Edge for Business. The Authorized Group setting ensures that Edge respects the Printer Groups, Removable USB Devices Groups, and Network Resources Groups settings in the Microsoft Purview compliance portal. This change prevents users from bypassing Data Loss Prevention (DLP) protections with Edge, improving security and compliance.
