Dirac has successfully addressed a critical compatibility issue that previously prevented certain users from receiving the Windows 11 24H2 update, particularly those utilizing Dirac Audio software. The bug was traced to a core audio processing component—cridspapo.dll—which caused system-wide failures in recognizing connected audio devices, including built-in speakers, Bluetooth headsets, and external audio peripherals.

Following the release of Windows 11 24H2, some users reported that both pre-installed applications (such as Voice Recorder and Sound Settings) and third-party audio software ceased detecting audio hardware. This disruption significantly impacted user experience and inadvertently blocked the installation of the latest OS version for affected systems, despite meeting all other requirements.
The issue has now been resolved with the release of an updated audio driver via Windows Update. The new driver version includes critical patches to cridspapo.dll, restoring full functionality to audio processing pipelines and ensuring seamless integration with Dirac Audio and other audio enhancement technologies. The safeguard hold has been removed as of September 11, 2025. Eligible devices with no other safeguard hold should now be able to install Windows 11, version 24H2 via the Windows Update release channel. Please note, it can take up to 48 hours before the update to Windows 11, version 24H2 is offered. Restarting your device might help it offer faster.
Windows 11 24H2 introduces several enhancements, including improved performance on ARM64 devices, refined power efficiency, and deeper integration with Microsoft Copilot for productivity workflows. Additionally, the update brings enhanced security features such as mandatory Secure Boot enforcement and expanded support for hybrid cloud management through Microsoft Intune.
