Windows 10 includes a touch keyboard for computers and tablets with a touch screen. When you touch any text field on your tablet, the touch keyboard appears on the screen. If you don't have a touch screen, you can still launch it. Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, also known by its code name "Redstone 3", is the next major update to Windows 10. It is in active development as of this writing. It comes with an updated touch keyboard app which supports dictation on Desktop.

Recently, Microsoft released Windows 10 build 16215 to Windows Insiders. It comes with an updated touch keyboard app which features a number of new layouts. Please see How to Change Touch Keyboard Layout in Windows 10.
Here is how it looks:
To use dictation with the touch keyboard in Windows 10, click on the microphone button in the top left corner of the touch keyboard. Alternatively, you can press Win + H shortcut keys. This hotkey works in any app.
You can also use a number of voice commands to edit your input or to insert punctuation. The commands are as follows (you must say them out loud):
- go to the end of paragraph - move the cursor to the end of the paragraph.
- go to start of <word or phrase> - move the cursor to the first character before the specified word or phrase.
- go down to next sentence - move the cursor forward to the next sentence.
- go to the end of the sentence - move the cursor forward to to the end of the sentence
- go to the start of paragraph - move the cursor to the start of paragraph
- go after <word or phrase> - move the cursor to the first character after the specified word or phrase
- move back to the previous word - move the cursor to the beginning of the previous word.
- move to the start of the word - move the cursor to the beginning of the current word.
- select that - select the most recent speech recognition result.
- select <word or phrase> - select the specified word or phrase.
- select next three words - will select the next 3 words.
- clear selection - remove the selection from the text.
- stop dictating - turns off the dictation.
- start spelling - turn on the spelling mode
- end spelling - turn off the spelling mode.
- comma/period/question mark/etc - insert the appropriate punctuation.
- delete last three words - deletes the last 3 words.
- delete that - delete the most recent speech recognition results, or the currently selected text.
- go to the left - same as pressing the left arrow key.
- press delete - same as pressing the delete key.
- press backspace- same as pressing the backspace key.
- move right - same as pressing the right arrow key.
Update: Starting with Windows 10 Fall Creators Update RTM build 16299, you can use the hotkey Win + H to quickly start dictation.

On screen dictation keyboard
Thank you so much for including the bit about Windows button + H for dictation! I was opening the keyboard and touching the mic button every time I wanted to use it and it was a pain. Having a keyboard shortcut for the touch keyboard mic button is SO helpful!

I’m not able to get dictation commands find punctuation marks. Please send oral commands for Windows 10 Touch keyboard to get the various punctuation marks. I will be grateful if it is sent as early as possible.
would lovet to use voice dictation with the touch keybooard more, but it works poorly, 1. the keyboard is slow to appear and will lock up other functions until it does. 2. do i need a seperate microphone for it doesn’t pick up my voice well seem like i have to yell to be heard.if it responds at all. suggestions
