A few weeks after the latest update, Cortana for Android is now picking up another feature: if you let it access your Outlook Calendar, the personal assistant will now remind you of your friends' birthdays. This feature is part of the new 1.9.12 update that was recently rolled out for Android users.
But that's not the only change in the mentioned update — you can now also add more than one calendar into Cortana's Notebook and can be notified about events from all of them.
There are also some minor changes, including improved location-based reminder accuracy and improved meeting retrieval experience, as well as fixes for some bugs and app crashes.
Cortana for Android continues to gain more features with every update and is now almost on-par with its Windows version, while the iOS variant is sometimes left behind, but eventually might get the missing functionality in the near future.
If you disabled auto-updating of apps on your device or if you want to try Cortana for Android for the first time, head over to the Google Play Store and download it right now. Don't forget that it's still available only in select regions.
