Copilot Vision is now available to all users in the US

Microsoft has announced the general availability of Copilot Vision in the United States. If you aren't familiar with it, it allows the Copilot assistant to access any open browser or application window, and then to analyze on-screen content. This way, it can provide contextual insights, and assist with queries based on visual input.

Several notable enhancements have been introduced alongside this rollout. One key improvement is the ability for Copilot Vision to process and analyze content from two simultaneously open application windows for data comparison, cross-referencing, or multi-app workflows.

Additionally, the update includes a new feature named Highlights. It provides users with step-by-step visual guidance tailored to specific tasks. For instance, users can request assistance while navigating software applications, optimizing digital images, or even improving gameplay performance.

Privacy and security remain central to the design of Copilot Vision. Microsoft points that the Vision feature does not retain any user-provided input, images, or screenshots. All data collected during a session is discarded immediately upon completion. Furthermore, Copilot Vision is designed to assist rather than act autonomously, meaning it will not perform actions such as clicking, typing, or scrolling on behalf of the user.

Access to Copilot Vision is available at no cost to Microsoft Edge users, while usage in other platforms requires a Copilot Pro subscription, priced at $20 per month per user.
