Copilot for Windows now supports the “Press to talk” feature

Microsoft has released an update to the Copilot app for Windows (version 1.25024.100.0 and above) to Windows Insiders on all update channels. This update brings with it the Press to talk feature, which allows you to quickly interact with Copilot using your voice.

The feature is being rolled out in stages and may not yet be available to all users even after installing the required version of the application.

  • The "Press to talk" feature allows you to interact with Copilot using your voice using a hotkey so you can get instant answers while staying in your current workflow and without interrupting your tasks. To start a voice conversation with Copilot, hold the Alt + Spacebar for 2 seconds on your PC.
  • To end your conversation, press the Esc key. If no speech is detected within a few seconds, Copilot will automatically end the conversation. Once the conversation is finished, the microphone icon displayed on the screen will disappear. The Copilot app update (version 1.25024.100.0 and higher) is now being deployed across all Insider Channels via the Microsoft Store . This update includes new features and improvements, which will be rolled out gradually. Not all Insider users will receive the update immediately, as the deployment is staggered to ensure stability and compatibility.
