Microsoft has announced new features and improvements made to Copilot for Microsoft 365. It has got support for additional languages, can now optimize data in Excel with formula generation, better works with the Word app, and much more.
More supported languages
Copilot for Microsoft 365 now supports 16 more languages - Russian, Ukrainian, Arabic, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Hebrew, Hungarian, Korean, Norwegian (Bokmål), Polish, Portuguese (Portugal), Swedish, Thai and Turkish.
It is noted that Traditional Chinese is still available, but not supported. Microsoft promises that support for this language will return in the future, when the company manages to solve some problems.
Improvements for Office apps
- Copilot for Word will soon be able to answer questions based on graphs, format sections, automatically apply sensitivity labels, and generate summaries for selected text.
- Copilot for Excel will soon be able to simultaneously generate two columns of formulas within a single query. For example, you can use one query to separate a user's first and last name into different columns. You can also use Copilot to create complex formulas that span multiple tables, including using the XLOOKUP and SUMIF functions.
Locally stored data processing
In May, Copilot will be able to work with data stored locally on your computer. Previously, he could already work with files in OneDrive (for business) and SharePoint.
Integration with Microsoft Graph
In May, users of classic Outlook, new Outlook for Windows, and Outlook on the web will be able to launch Copilot chat, which will use your chats, emails, and files as work data.
Secure chat in the Copilot mobile app
Now, customers with the appropriate licenses will be automatically protected from commercial data breaches if they launch the Copilot mobile app with a work account.
Notebook
The new feature allows you to create long tooltips that can be expanded and changed over time. This will be especially useful in tasks such as code generation or writing texts.
App Assure
Copilot is now included in App Assure, which ensures a seamless experience with monthly Microsoft 365 updates.
Copilot's availability in Teams
Administrators can now manage Copilot's availability in Teams meetings using the admin center. You can configure Copilot to be enabled by default, only for the duration of the meeting, or during and after the meeting ends.
