Confirmed: December Updates cause Wi-Fi connection problems in Windows 11

Some Windows 11 version 22H2 and 23H2 users are experiencing Wi-Fi connectivity issues after installing the December 12, 2023 monthly cumulative update KB5033375. They report that the problem only affects corporate wireless networks with the seamless Wi-Fi roaming feature enabled, which ensures a smooth transition between access points.

The problem does not appear to occur when connected to home wireless networks.

Microsoft today officially confirmed the bug in the OS. There is now a note on the Health Dashboard website.

Microsoft has received reports of an issue in which some Wi-Fi adapters might not connect to some networks after installing KB5032288. We have confirmed this issue was caused by KB5032288 and KB5033375. As reported, you are more likely to be affected by this issue if you are attempting to connect to an enterprise, education, or public Wi-Fi network using 802.1x authentication. This issue is not likely to occur on home networks.

Microsoft already offers a fix in of Known Issue Rollback. Affected users can download the appropriate package from here.

If you aren't able to download it, you can apply an alternative solution. To resolve the issue, you can uninstall update KB5033375 and pre-release update KB50532288, if installed.
