As of now, Microsoft is releasing daily updates to the Canary Channel of their newest Chromium-based Microsoft Edge app. The app allows changing the default search engine for the address bar, including the ability to set a custom search engine.
Unfortunately, there is no change log available for the Canary Channel of the browser. At the time of this writing, I have Microsoft Edge version 75.0.127.0. installed on my computer.
From its very first releases, Bing was the only pre-installed search engine. With recent builds, Microsoft has added a few more search services, including Google and DuckDuckGo.
As you may already know, Microsoft Edge, the default web browser of Windows 10, is moving to a Chromium-compatible web engine in the Desktop version. Microsoft explains that the intention behind this move is to create better web compatibility for customers and less fragmentation for web developers. Microsoft has already made a number of contributions to the Chromium project, helping to port the project to Windows on ARM. The company promises to contribute more to the Chromium project.
The official preview builds of the Chromium-based Microsoft Edge browser are available for Windows 10 only. The 'Beta' Channel build is missing as of now, but its badge hints that it is coming soon.

Now in the latest versions you find ALL search services directly…. you have only to scroll all list and find GOOGLE and work perfectly.
I’m afraid that does not change the fact that “New Tab” will automatically open with BING as a search bar inside the new tab, but if you do type in the search bar of the new type, search results will bring you to google if you set google as default. It just doesn’t fully make BING disappear.
Thank You!
