The Library of Congress has added 25 iconic audio recordings, created between 1913 and 2015, to the National Recording Registry. Among these are two standout pieces from the world of video games: the Windows 95 startup chime (composed by Brian Eno in 1995) and the original Minecraft soundtrack, Minecraft: Volume Alpha (composed by Daniel Rosenfeld, also known as C418, in 2011).

Add sound to PrintScreen screenshot in Windows 11, 10 and 8.1
In Windows, there are several ways to capture a screenshot without using third party tools. You can either use Snipping Tool, or good old PrintScreen key. But PrintScreen has always been a silent event - there is no sound, no visual indication that the image was captured to the clipboard. This changed with Windows 8/8.1 Windows 10, and Windows 11. In these OSes, if you use the Win + PrintScreen keyboard shortcut to take a screenshot, it dims the screen.

Where to download Windows sounds and sound schemes?
This question was asked yesterday by one of my friends. He was bored with the default Windows sounds, which are very limited in Windows 8. He tried to find some good sound schemes, but all he found was some paid Stardock app with a proprietary soundpack format. This made him really unhappy, so we decided to find some source for free sounds and sound schemes. Luckily, we found a great web site for sounds!
