Microsoft announced last week that it will allow uninstalling Microsoft Edge in the European Economic Area (EEA) in compliance with the Digital Markets Act (DMA). Even more, Microsoft has done more drastic alterations to Windows 10 and Windows 11. In the near future, EU users will have the ability to remove Microsoft Edge, deactivate Bing in taskbar search, and eliminate the MSN news feed from the widget panel, among other changes.

Windows 11 will allow removing Edge, Bing and disable ads for EU users
According to Microsoft, Windows 11 users in the European Economic Area (EEA) will have the ability to deactivate the built-in Bing search, disable the Microsoft News feed and ads in the Widgets pane, remove Microsoft Edge, and add third-party search engines, including Google. The changes are part of reforms the company is making to its operating system to comply with the EU Digital Markets Act, which comes into force in 2024. Under the new rules, Microsoft will be required to comply with many regulations, including making it easy to remove pre-installed apps and change default settings.

How to Enable End Task for Taskbar Context Menu

Microsoft has announced that Windows 11 version 22H2 will not receive optional non-security cumulative updates after February 27, 2024. These updates are typically released in the fourth week of the month.
Windows 11 deprecates the Steps Recorder and Tips inbox apps
Microsoft has announced that two more inbox apps, Steps Recorder and Tips, are now deprecated in Windows 11. The Steps Recorder will soon be removed from the OS bundle. The same for the Tips app, but it contents will be regularly updated until the app is removed.
Windows 11 Build 25997 (Canary) and Build 23590 (Dev) released with sharing improvements
Microsoft today released two new builds for Insiders running Windows 11 in the Dev and Canary channels. There are no radical changes in both builds. Both contain quality-of-life improvements and various fixes. Additionally, Build 23590 (Dev) includes a natural voice preview option for Narrator.
