Microsoft has released a new preview of Windows 11 to Insiders in the Release Preview channel. Build 26100.3613 (KB5053656) applies to version 24H2, and comes with a number of improvements. Specially, Copilot+ devices are getting much improved Live Captions, and the Settings app is featuring hardware cards. Besides, there are a number of fixes and quality-of-life improvements.
Microsoft has updated Paint with a more intuitive CoCreator
Microsoft has prepared a new update to the Paint app for Windows 11. Version 11.2502.121.0 brings with it improvements to the CoCreator user interface. At the moment, only Windows Insiders in the Dev and Canary channels can give it a try.

Windows 11 moves all the Mouse options from Control Panel to Settings
Microsoft continues moving the classic Control Panel options to the modern Settings app. Mouse options are now fully available in the Settings app for some Insiders. In the near future, the options they leave their classic place, making the Control Panel more and more useless. Microsoft is actively working on making the latter ready for the removal.
Updated Snipping Tool and Notepad are now available to Windows 11 Insiders
Microsoft is rolling out updated versions of the Snipping Tool and Notepad apps to Windows 11 Insiders running Dev and Canary builds. The Snipping Tool update introduces the Draw & Hold feature in the Snipping Tool, allowing users to convert freehand drawings into precise geometric shapes by holding the pen or cursor before releasing. The tool also supports a new ms-screenclip
protocol that allows integration of Snipping Tool features into external applications. Notepad now includes an AI-powered Summarize feature to generate brief summaries of selected text. Additionally, Notepad adds a Recent Files section in the File menu.
Windows 11 Build 22631.5116 (Release Preview) adds hardware info tiles to Settings
Microsoft has released Windows 11 Build 22631.5116 (KB5053657) to Insiders in the Release Preview channel. Changes include extended text scaling in Explorer, context menu button labels, and a Home page in Settings for corporate devices. A virtual keyboard layout for Xbox gamepads is now available, along with an emoji icon in the system tray. Task Manager now calculates CPU usage consistently with industry standards, and optional legacy metrics are accessible on the Details tab. Additional improvements include support for Noto fonts for CJK languages, fixes for printer issues, and resolved crashes related to network VHD(X) profiles. Some features, like suggested actions for copied phone numbers or dates, have been discontinued. Not all features are available to all users yet.
Some USB printers print random text after installing Windows updates
Microsoft recently confirmed a glitch affecting some USB printers connected to Windows 10 (22H2) and Windows 11 (22H2/23H2) systems after installing updates released since late January 2025. The issue, triggered by problematic patches in the updates, causes printers supporting USB Print and IPP Over USB protocols to randomly print garbled text and network commands (e.g., starting with "POST /ipp/print HTTP/1.1") when turned on or reconnected.

Microsoft has released a new preview of Windows 11, Build 27813 , to Insider program participants on the Canary channel. Key changes include the removal of the Location History feature (used by Cortana for device location tracking), with corresponding settings deleted from Privacy & Security. Fixes address audio crashes linked to MIDI updates via the WDMAud driver and display issues with missing color profiles.
