Microsoft has released Windows 11, Build 26200.5702 (KB5062653), to  Insiders in the Dev channel. It features a new Describe Image action in Click to Do, removes the administrator account by introducing the new Admin Guard feature, and also adds several fixes to Explorer and Windows shell.

Microsoft has released a new preview of Windows 11, version 24H2, Build  26100.4762 (KB5062660) to Insiders in the Release Preview ring. The update features several new features, including the improved Recall version, Click-To-Do,  AI agent in Settings, and much more.

In July 2025, according to data from the analytics firm StatCounter, Windows 11 has officially surpassed Windows 10 in global usage share within the Windows family of operating systems. This marks a significant milestone in Microsoft’s long-term transition strategy, nearly four years after the release of Windows 11.

Microsoft makes native Markdown formatting support in Notepad broadly available on Windows 11. It transforms the long-standing plain text editor into a more flexible writer tool capable of handling basic document formatting. Maybe this has been added as an excuse for the removed WordPad.

This week, Microsoft announced a new round of layoffs that will affect around 9100 employees across multiple divisions, including the Xbox teams, sales, and marketing. In total, the company will lay off more than 15,000 people through 2025.
