Microsoft delays the controversial Recall feature
Microsoft will be releasing its new Copilot Plus PCs next week, but without the controversial Recall feature that captures screenshots of user activities. The company has decided to hold off on including Recall in order to test it with the Windows Insider program. Initially, Microsoft had intended to offer Recall as an optional feature with enhanced security measures, but has now chosen to delay its launch.
Windows 11 to get new Generative AI page in Settings and Logon Animation
Windows 11 Build 26236 (Canary) includes a few hidden features that aren't enabled by default. There is now a new Generative AI page in Settings that allows you to allow or deny applications access to generative AI introduced in Windows 11. Another change is a new logon animation that also says "welcome back" instead of just "welcome".
