Windows 11 Build 26220.6690 (Dev) Adds Translator Capabilities to Click to Do

Microsoft has released Windows 11 Build 26220.6690 to Insiders in the Dev channel. It introdudes a number of new features, including translator in Click To Do and window sharing to Copilot for processing. Please note that the major build number for the Dev channel has changed to 26220. Windows 11 version 25H2 will have major build number 26200, and it is now available in the Release Preview ring.

You can now enable new portable Xbox gaming UI on regular Windows 11

The latest Windows 11 Insider build 25H2, available in the Release Preview channel, includes the new full-screen Xbox app game UI. It has been created for Windows-based portable gaming consoles. Officially, it will be a limited-time exclusive to the ROG Xbox Ally series consoles from ASUS and Microsoft. But Reddit users found a way to enable it on any other portable gaming device running Windows 11.

Windows 11/10 Patch Tuesday Update Causes SMBv1 Access Issues

Following the September Windows Patch Tuesday release, users report disruptions in accessing network shares that rely on the SMBv1 protocol. The issue affects most supported Windows versions, both client and server editions. Those include Windows 11, versions 24H2, 23H2, 22H2, as well as  Windows 10 versions 22H2 and 21H2. The Server Message Block (SMB) protocol enables file sharing across networks. It allows applications to read and write files and request services from servers. This protocol is commonly used with network-attached storage (NAS) devices, particularly in backup operations.

Windows 11 Adds an Option to Run an Internet Speed ​​Test from Tray

Microsoft tests a new feature in Windows 11 that allows performing an internet speed test directly from the system tray or quick actions menu. A right-click on the network icon in the taskbar displays a new option labeled "Perform Speed Test," accompanied by a dedicated icon. Additionally, a "Test internet speed" button appears in the Wi-Fi section of the quick actions panel, located in the lower-right area of the screen.

Dirac has successfully addressed a critical compatibility issue that previously prevented certain users from receiving the Windows 11 24H2 update, particularly those utilizing Dirac Audio software. The bug was traced to a core audio processing component—cridspapo.dll—which caused system-wide failures in recognizing connected audio devices, including built-in speakers, Bluetooth headsets, and external audio peripherals.
