PowerToys 0.87 makes the New+ menu compatible with Windows 10

Microsoft has released a new version of its PowerToys app suite. This time, besides the huge list of fixes and various improvements, it also brings the New+ menu utility to Windows 10. Starting with PowerToys 0.87, you can use this powerful and flexible replacement for the Right-click > New menu in Windows 10's File Explorer.

Microsoft is killing Suggested actions, a brand new feature of Windows 11  that is intended to save your time when you copy some phone number or date. You can make are call or schedule an appointment with its help. But now Copilot can do this for you, so Suggested actions are set to bite the dust.

Windows 11 will soon have a taskbar button to open the Emoji picker

Microsoft is working on an extra taskbar button that will open the Emoji panel in Windows 11. It will be an addition to the existing hotkeys (Win + . and Win + ;). The button can be visible all the time, but there are options to make it visible only when typing,  or hide it.

Windows 11 Copilot has become a native app with a new hotkey

Microsoft is rolling out a new version of the Copilot app for Windows (version 1.24112.123.0). The update will soon be available in the Microsoft Store to all Windows Insiders, in all channels. It has become a native app, that brings with it a new a small "Quick Access" flyout. This flyout can be opened with a global Alt + Space shortcut, available in all apps.

Window 11 is getting a colorful battery indicator, here is how to enable it

Windows 11's battery icon is receiving visual updates across the system tray, quick settings, and the Settings app. Notably, it will turn orange when energy saver is enabled and green when charging. Additionally, labels for the icons in the battery usage graph (bottom right) have been backported from the Canary build. This update is being rolled out quietly.
