Mozilla Firefox is my browser of choice since most of the mainsteam browsers are Chromium-based, which I never liked for their non-customizable user interface. So I switched to Firefox a long time ago. While the Vivaldi browser looks very promising for advanced users, I have not switched to this browser yet. Starting with version 57, Firefox doesn't support XUL-based add-ons. Instead, the browser supports add-ons which use the modern WebExtensions API. Today, I would like to share with you my list of add-ons for Firefox 57, which I consider must-have for every user. Hopefully, you will find them useful too.

The recently released Firefox 57 comes with a newer version of the Pocket service. There are traces of Pocket still embedded inside the Firefox browser. The Firefox browser comes with SHIELD Studies enabled for select users. SHIELD Studies is a special option which allows the user to try different features and ideas before they are released to all Firefox users. It is like the Insider Program of Windows 10, but is applicable only to a few experimental features of the browser. Let's see how to enable or disable it.
As you may know, Firefox 57 comes with a new user interface, known as "Photon". It is intended to provide a more modern, sleek feel that’s consistent across multiple platforms. It replaced the previous "Australis" UI and features new menus, a new customization pane and tabs without rounded corners. The new tab page of Firefox 57 comes with a search bar, top sites, Highlights and snippets. Highlights is a special section of the new tab page which extends top sites you visit. It represents them in a fancy way. If you are unhappy to see them, you can quickly disable them.
