Calendar in Outlook for Web receives new customizable layout

Today, Microsoft is holding its virtual Ignite event, where the company usually announces lots of new things for corporate and business customers. Still, regular customers sometimes also get new stuff. This time, Microsoft revealed a new customizable view for Calendar in Outlook for Web. 

The new view is called “Board.” It allows users to create personalized layouts with different contents. For example, you can have a working week at the left, a month view in the middle, and tasks from To Do in the right side of the screen.

The Board view supports tasks, sticky notes, attachments, reminders, goals, links, and additional calendars. According to Microsoft, by combining different blocks, users can enjoy “endless customization” to create a perfect layout that fits their individual needs. To enable the new Board layout, click the button next to the Share button at the top-right corner of the screen and select “Board.”

The Board view is now available in Outlook for the web. Soon, Microsoft will roll it out to commercial and education customers.

In addition to the new layout, Microsoft has announced a new feature called “intelligent scheduling assistance” for meetings. It finds the perfect time for your appointment by analyzing your preferences and other events in the calendar. Also, Outlook will make sure that the selected time works for everyone involved. If the even clashes with another event, the app will help you reschedule meetings conveniently.

The new scheduling system is coming to Outlook for iOS and Android in late March. It will be available for users with commercial and educational licenses. Recently, Microsoft also introduced new colorful themes and weather forecasts in Outlook for mobile. These changes are available right now to all customers.
