Winaero Tweaker 0.3.2 released with new features again

I just released a new version of Winaero Tweaker. This version comes with a number of bug fixes and new features. Read this announcement to learn what was added to Winaero Tweaker 0.3.2.

First, I would like to say thanks to the users of my app who report bugs. Thanks to all of of them, the following issues were resolved:

  • Fixed Home/Information page error under Windows Server
  • Fixed High DPI issue with the option "Shortcut Arrow"
  • Fixed non-working reset button in the "new date pane" option for Windows 10

I also recreated from scratch Windows Update related settings for Windows 10. Now they should work in Windows 10 RTM. At the very least, you will be able to stop automatic updates or disable them completely.

This release features more classic/advanced appearance options. I added tweaks for the statusbar font and message box font.

Winaero Tweaker messagebox font Winaero Tweaker statusbar font Don't expect all your apps to follow these options though. In modern Windows versions, even Microsoft's own apps ignore these metrics settings. Many apps will simply use their own fonts.

I added the ability to switch between the old battery flyout and the new one:

You can also set the appearance of the Network flyout:

I noticed a small bug. For me “Enable the old volume control” checkbox is marked even though I‘ve never used this option.

    Thanks as always, Sergey.

In the last two versions, Winaero Tweaker stops responding whenever I click Apply changes in Window Title Bar.

Is there a way to bring back old System Tray so that we could have “Customize…” option quickly accessible?

    Thanks for your work!!

One thing……how is it possible to actually SAVE and SET the theme changes for PERMANENT? I am using a colored tile bars and it works fine EXCEPT when every time I either hibernate, restart or turn on the computer it reverts back to the default theme and I have to go back to the theme settings and click on my new color tiles theme. It never keeps it on.

    Any ideas?

      This is really strange.
Because here, it works permanently once i set it.
I have fast startup turned off because of dual boot with Arch Linux.
Can you check this out? Try to turn off the fast startup feature and apply the theme. Shutdown and start your PC again.

I have experienced similar problems with Winaero settings not being permanent. In my case, the Menus, Windows Title Bars, and Scrollbars settings do not ‘stick’ after restarting the system. I disabled ‘fast startup’, but that did not help. The Windows Borders settings do save permanently, so it seems that Microsoft may be doing something under the hood with respect to the other settings.

My new theme seems only to disappear when i resume from hibernation.
Where is that FAST START feature so I can try to turn it off? I can’t find it anywhere.

        Thanks!

Edge is a universal app. Those “universal” apps are not universal enough to run without UAC.
Try to use some other browser in the Administrator account.
      Or merge the following tweak:
      Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

      [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]
      "ValidateAdminCodeSignatures"=dword:00000001

      After that, restart the OS.

So, the issue occupies only in the limited user account?
I wonder how I can reproduce this behavior.

    Thank you sir!

Is there a way to put a “LOCK SCREEN” button in windows 10? I am so used to in Windows 7

Sometimes i just want to lock my screen. Usually it is located where you can either Turn off, Restart or Hibernate or sleep or LOCK.

I can’t seem to just be able to lock my screen with one click. Also there is no Log off or switch user button in Window’s 10.

Just click the user name in Windows 10 Start menu.

Sergey — a thousand thanks and a Donation, too!

You have accomplished one of the Holy Grail Customizations of Windows 8 / 8.1: White text in dark Title Bars. Brilliant.

A step further along similar lines, perhaps: the icon and text size / color in the ’10’s’ Taskbar seem too small and way too dark to read easily. (In this respect ‘8.1’ got it right!) Possibly a future version of ‘Tweaker’ could provide the option to increase the icon and text size and set the text color to white as well.

    Every good wish ~ HPG

Hi, I would like to say the Winaerotweaker is a great tool. Is it possible for you to add an option change the startup sound in Windows 10? I tried to change it manually but I had no luck. I guess I will have to wait until someone figures it out.

    Hello,

After changing the size of titlebars, scrollbars and menus some other menus became extremely large and impossible to use. For example the preferences of PotPlayer. See the screenshot here — https://yadi.sk/i/vHBG6yWaiVLYQ

Resetting to default gives no result. Also my laptop is High DPI (13″ 1920×1080).

Any ideas on how to make menus normal size?

From your screenshot, I see no menus on the picture.
That red area is Pot’s preferences?

any way to add a way to set the screen time for the boot options?

If I have the boot option set to show the advanced boot items (safe) it only sits there until I hit enter to continue, is there a way to add a time period selector to this setting, so the computer goes ahead and boots normal like? Maybe a timer setting of 5 to 15 sec.

    thanks

I like the way this is now with ALL items in one program.

Two things about Windows 10 bug the crap out of me.

    1. The Window Titles aren’t centered anymore – can this be an option please?
    2. I doubt you can help with this, but I’d love to be able to disable Blur and keep Transparency enabled.
The blur sure is ugly. : \
