The Start menu in Windows 10 is expandable, so you can expand it to make it look almost similar to the Start screen in Windows 8/8.1. Do the following:

  1. Open the Start menu.
  2. Click the special 'Expand Start' button in the top right corner:
    expand start button Windows 10
  3. You are done. Now the Start menu will fill your screen like the Start screen:
    start screen Windows 10
