Download Win+R Alias Manager

Win+R Alias Manager.

Win+R Alias Manager provides very easy and handy way to create aliases for your favorite applications. For exmaple, you can type "ff" in run dialog box, and Windows will launch for you Firefox browser. With Win+R Alias Manager you can specify any alias (or even several aliases) for any application. Aliases are built-in feature of the OS Windows since Windows 95, but there's no system option allowing you to control them. So, now you can use the Win+R Alias Manager.

Windows 8 build 6.2.8431 VS port for Windows 7

Today's grand update is the Windows 8 build 6.2.8431 VS port for Windows 7 again by my friend PainteR.

So, this is a yet another greate work and it featured with

  • 98% of the resources are ported from the original builds of Windows 8.
  • (The rest is what is lacking or there is simply inaccessible was painted about the color scheme of VSes).
  • Styles supports all DPI.
  • There is a complete basic (simplified) style based on the resources of Aero.
  • Start Menu (right side) does not truncate long labels. An error is characteristic of most third-party themes.
  • Included wallpapers of the original builds of Windows 8.
  • The small size of the basic style - 645 KB
  • Included styles from the initial stage of development to the current builds (7850-8400).
  • Includes additional resources from the builds (Font, branding, "Start" button, avatars).

PainteR has implemented separate Aero coloring mode - like in latest Windows 8 builds. As you may know, Microsoft has separated colors for taskbar and windows, so this theme port follows Microsoft's ideas.

Microsoft has 99.9% finished work about Windows 8 visual style, so you can consider Windows 8 build 6.2.8431 VS port for Windows 7 as Windows 8 RTM VS for Windows 7.

TakeOwnershipEx can be used to obtain full access to files and folders on your computer. As you may know, in modern versions of Windows the default owner of most files is TrustedInstaller, and all users have read-only access (in most cases). TakeOwnershipEx allows users of the  "administrators" group to become owners of files or folders with one click. It gives full access permissions too.

Latest TakeOwnershipEx version is 1.2, see full change log below

Download Taskbar Thumbnails Tuner

Taskbar Thumbnails Tuner.

Taskbar Thumbnails Tuner has been superseded by Winaero Tweaker and is no longer being maintained. Unlike this app, Winaero Tweaker supports all recent Windows versions, including Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 and above. It constantly receives updates to improve the end user experience and make all its options more friendly for the end user.

Instead of the standalone Taskbar Thumbnails Tuner app, use the following options from Winaero Tweaker:
