Add Clocks for Additional Time Zones in Windows 10

Clock Time Icon

Windows 10 allows you to have up to three clocks. By default, the operating system shows the clock for your locale, that is, the local time in the calendar popup and in the taskbar. Here is how to add two additional clocks with different time zones in Windows 10.

Additional clocks can be useful for people who need to track the time in other places with different time zones. In Windows 10, you can configure the time zone for additional clocks individually but the user interface has changed compared to earlier releases of Windows. Once you add additional clocks, they will be visible in the Calendar flyout in Windows 10. Let's see how to configure them.

To add additional clocks in Windows 10, do the following.

Open Settings and go to Time & language category.

There, select Date & time on the left.

Under Related settings on the right, click on the link Add clocks for different time zones.

The following dialog window will appear:

Tick the option Show this clock for the first clock and configure its time zone. You can change its name if you want. The name you specified will be shown in the calendar flyout.

Now, configure the second clock if required. Select its time zone and set the name you want for the clock.

Now, click the date at the end of the taskbar to open the calendar flyout. Now it will display additional clocks.

If you need to configure additional clocks with the Registry for automation purposes, you need to do it as follows.

Navigate with the Registry editor app to the following key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\TimeDate\AdditionalClocks\1

By default, the subkeys TimeDate, AdditionalClocks and 1 do not exist, so you need to create them manually.

Under the 1 subkey you created, create a new 32-bit DWORD value called Enable and set its value data to 1.

Now create a new string value named DisplayName and set it to any desired name which will be used in the calendar flyout.

Finally, create the TzRegKeyName string value and specify its value data as one of the following time zone strings:
