Edge switches on four-week release schedule, will have Extended Stable channel
A couple of weeks ago, Google announced significant changes to the Chromium release schedule. These changes directly affect Chrome’s update frequency. With the release of Chrome 94, the most popular browser will start receiving major updates every four weeks instead of six weeks, as it was for the last decade. Because Edge is using the same rendering engine and Microsoft is actively contributing to Chromium Project, the company has announced that it would adapt the same four-week schedule as well. March update for Xbox fixes controller connection issues
A few days ago, Microsoft released the March update for the Xbox One and Xbox Series consoles. This relatively minor update brought an option to turn off the FPS Boost and Auto HDR enhancements for backward compatible games. For some reason, the changelog does not say that the March update also resolves gamepad connection issues. Jason Ronald, a member of the Xbox team, mentioned in his Twitter account that those suffering from the controller disconnect issues should install the latest update to get rid of all the problems. Chrome 89 significantly reduces memory consumption
Google has published a new blog post where it detailed memory management and performance improvements in the latest Chrome 89 release. According to the company, Chrome 89 significantly reduces memory consumption on Windows machines–up to 22% less in the browser processes, 8% in the renderer, and 3% in the GPU.
