YouTube will soon have real-time views & likes counters

YouTube is currently implementing a new feature that enables real-time updates for likes and views on videos. This update aims to provide content creators with the option to track statistics without relying on third-party software or plugins.

At the moment, this feature is only available to a limited number of YouTube users. The number of likes and views on a video are crucial parameters for creators as they directly impact their earnings through monetization on the platform.

Unlike the current system, where likes and views need manual updates by reloading the site or reopening the video, the new feature incorporates animated updates for these metrics, regardless of whether the video is playing or paused.

In early November, YouTube started testing the Play Something button for random content playback, which was introduced to the mobile application for select users. Additionally, Google revealed that it was experimenting with generative artificial intelligence to enhance the viewing experience on YouTube.

Mid-November saw the introduction of neural network-based tools for music creation on YouTube. With features like Dream Track and Music AI Tools, users can create short musical snippets resembling famous artists and transform melodies sung by their own voices into instrument sounds.

To improve transparency, YouTube has also revised its policy concerning AI-generated content. Creators are now required to disclose if their content involves artificial intelligence.
