The Windows 11 Copilot Suggestions pane now opens automatically

In the latest Beta build, Windows 11 22635.3420, Microsoft has update the apearance and behavior of Copilot quick actions. The change is currently hidden and is not mentioned in the release notes. After enabling it with ViVeTool, you will find that once you copy text or image to the clipboard, there will be a new flyout that appears on the screen without you having to hover over the Copilot tray icon, or clicking it.

Earlier, Microsoft has added quick actions for Copilot in form of a taskbar menu. That menu includes direct commands to process the clipboard content with one click. The menu appears when you hover over the taskbar icon with your mouse pointer.

The idea of those quick actions is to allow the user to process the clipboard content with Copilot AI without even opening it. For a text, the popup menu of the Copilot icon allows to directly rewrite or summarize the information. For an image in the clipboard, the assistant can remove the background. And so on.

So, the latest Windows 11 Beta update includes a new version of the Copilot suggestions menu for copied text/images that is hidden until triggered.

Unlike the previous menu, this variant opens automatically and includes animated opening and closing effects. Check out the following demo:

Moreover, you can turn off this behavior in the Settings app, under Personalization > Copilot. The option name is Show Copilot suggestions menu on copy.

To enable the new quick actions for Copilot, follow the steps below.
