What's new in Windows 11 Build 23580 (Dev)

Microsoft Store Update

A new version of the Microsoft Store version 22310.xxxx.x has become available to Windows 11 insiders on the Dev and Canary channels. The update brings with it the following improvements.

Setting the location for installing games. When downloading games such as Starfield, Halo Infinite or Forza Motorsport, you can now specify the hard drive on which to install the game. For example, when you click the “Install” button on the Starfield page, a dialog box will appear asking you to select the installation location. You can change the default drive and folder location in Microsoft Store settings. These settings sync with the Xbox app on PC.

Changes and improvements

Copilot for Windows

Starting with Dev channel build 23580, users with local accounts will be able to use Copilot for Windows. But the number of requests will be limited. To remove restrictions, you must sign in with your Microsoft account.

Nearby Share

Significantly increased data transfer speed between devices nearby within the same network. Whereas previously users had to be on the same private network, now they can be on both a public and private network. You can enable sharing with nearby devices in the Quick Actions menu on the taskbar, right-click on the local file, select Share and in the window that appears, select the device from the Nearby Share list.
