Windows 11 Build 22635.2486 (Beta) adds “System” app labels

Microsoft is releasing Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22635.2486 to the Beta channel. As you remember, there is now a single build for everyone on this Insider branch. The company will provide new features using Controlled Feature Rollout (CFR) technology (if any). Today's update brings with it labels for system components in Start and Settings, a rebranding for Game Bar, but disables screen casting improvements due to a bug.

What's new in Windows 11 Build 22635.2486 (Beta)

  • In the All Apps section of the Start menu, Windows 11 system components will be labeled "System".
  • Xbox Game Bar has been renamed to Game Bar. The change will appear in the Start menu and under Settings > Apps > Installed apps. The name will change after updating the Game Bar from the Microsoft Store.
  • The screen casting improvements introduced in Build 22631.2129 have been temporarily disabled to fix bugs. In the future, they will again be available to insiders.

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue that caused the Start menu to crash when using the system in Czech or Slovak.
  • Fixed an issue where the search icon would not display correctly in the taskbar when the Search Icon and Label option was selected.
