Safety Check for Chrome on desktop will now run automatically in the background. You'll get proactively alerted if passwords saved in Chrome have been compromised, any of your extensions are potentially harmful, you’re not using the latest version of Chrome, or site permissions need your attention. These alerts will appear in the three-dot menu in Chrome so you can take action.
Safety Check now also keeps an eye out for untrusted extensions and site permissions that require verification. If a user hasn't visited a site for a while, the tool can revoke its permissions.
In addition, Google has introduced a new feature for Chrome Tab Groups that enables users to save groups of tabs for access across devices. This feature will be gradually rolled out over the next few weeks.
Google has previously announced its intention to incorporate an AI-powered Compose feature into Chrome. This feature allows users to generate text instantly upon request. Similar versions of this feature are already functional in Google Messages, Gmail, Docs, Keep, and other apps. Compose takes a hint as input and generates the corresponding text.
The official announcement is here.
