PowerToys 0.75 released with Dashboard and cool Environment Variable editor

PowerToys 0.75 stable is available for download. It comes with a new Dashboard that allows you to quickly enable or disable this or that tool. Another great addition is Environment Variable editor that supports profiles. The latter allows you to switch between variable sets on the fly.

What's new in PowerToys 0.75

Introducing a new utility: The Environment Variables editor now allows you to configure profiles that can be easily enabled or disabled.

The new Dashboard home page in Settings adds a convenient way to enable modules, along with concise descriptions and activation methods.

A new preview handles has been added into Peek, capable of supporting all file types that your machine can currently preview. For instance, if Microsoft Office handlers are installed, Peek will now be able to preview Office files.

Other changes and fixes

  • After activating Color Picker, it's now possible to cancel the session by clicking the right mouse button.
  • FancyZones
    • Fixed an issue causing context menu pop-ups from some apps to automatically snap to a zone. (This was a hotfix for 0.74)
    • Applied the fix for the context menu pop-ups to the logic that decides which windows can be snapped.
    • Reworked the "Keep windows in their zones" option to include the work area and turn it on by default, fixing an incompatibility with the Copilot flyout.
    • Fixed an issue causing windows to be snapped while moving to a different virtual desktop.
  • Fixed an issue blocking some SVG files from being previewed correctly.
  • Fixed wrong .bmp file association in the registry for Image Resizer.

You can download PowerToys from the Microsoft Store or GitHub. The winget -s msstore powertoys command will also install the app suite on your Windows 11 PC.

  1. I had a problem with this one. FancyZones didn’t work properly. v0.75.1 fixed it.

    WinaeroTweaker v1.55 shows 22H2 when it should be 23H2 of Windows 11.
