NotebookLM is Google’s new AI-powered app for working with local files

Google is testing NotebookLM, an AI-powered app for working with local text documents. NotebookLM stands for Notebook Language Model.

Users can upload Google Docs documents and utilize AI-powered features such as content summaries, key topics and questions, glossaries, and idea generation.

Google said that now people have to work with voluminous texts, and the rapid growth in the amount of information makes us spend more and more time studying this information. The new app allows you to use the power of AI on your own texts.

Google acknowledges that generative models may sometimes produce inaccurate information, so users are encouraged to verify the original source if there are doubts. NotebookLM is currently available for testing on the Google Labs portal for a limited number of users selected from a waiting list in the United States.
