Google Workspace has introduced Duet AI assistant to all its apps, including Gmail, Drive, Slides, Docs, and more. In the near future, the assistant will have new useful features. It will be able to write notes during the meeting and even “attend” meetings in Meet instead of the user.
You can ask the Duet AI to create presentations, build charts from spreadsheet and documents, help with email responses, check grammar, and more. You can also use it to search Google Drive content, and summarize documents.
Duet AI assistant has been in testing for several months now and has new features coming soon.
- One of the new features is that it will be able to take notes during video meetings. To do this, select the “Make notes for me” option before starting the call and the application will record the main actions during the meeting.
- If the user is late, they can ask Duet to show them a summary from the beginning or middle to understand what they missed. When the meeting ends, Duet can save the summary to Docs and return to it as needed.
- Another feature will allow AI to “attend” meetings on behalf of users. To do this, click the “Attend on my behalf” button when you receive an invitation to a meeting and Duet will automatically generate a text about what you would like to discuss. However, if everyone in the meeting sends their AI assistant instead, Meet will figure it out and end the conversation.
The development of the latter feature is a little behind and will be available only next year.
Google plans to charge large organizations $30 per user for access to Duet. Prices for small teams have not yet been determined.
